Pepper Blaster GuardianAngel Testimonial

Pepper Blaster GuardianAngel PepperBlaster by Kimber

I own 3 of theese.

Tested one Pepper Blaster and it was very easy to hit the target.
I got some of the OC spray on my skin and it caused a burn that lasted about 24 hours.
This product is 10% OC 2.4% Major Capsaicinoids (Bear Spray is 2.0% OC) with 399,000 at the nozzle heat derived from raw food grade [peppers] OC with 4 Million Scoville heat units.

I hope I never have to use this but if I do I know the Pepper Blaster will work.

---by Brent376
Thank you, Brent!

The Pepper Blaster Guardian Angel is a fantastic product!
If don't already know, instead of spraying the liquid concentrated pepper, the PepperBlaster shoots a pepper gel blob with its own built-in pyro charge. It has 2 independent shots.
It's slim, extremely reliable, powerful and precise.

Do you know that it is more economical than regular pepper sprays?

One has to replace regular pepper sprays every 10-12 months due to a possible loss of pressure in the canister.
The Pepper Blaster has no internal pressure to lose whatsoever. It can be lying around in your purse or glove compartment for years and will still shoot precisely and with the same force the day it was manufactured. Fire one shot today, keep the 2nd shot for much later - it's like 2 separate cans of spray in one unit.

So if you multiply the price of a canister by 2: $8.95 x 2 = $17.90
If you keep buying 2 canisters of regular sprays every 12 months for 3 years, your cost is: $53.70.
And if you carry your 2-shot Pepper Blaster for the same 3 years, your cost is the same $40.

We hope that makes sense now.
Buy PepperBlaster by Kimber here...

-- Nicole W.-----------------------------------------------

Dear Nicole,

Thank you very much for your interest in our products!

We'd like to help you in your situation.
First, the products:
Dog spray, dog repellent, canine spray, mace muzzle
Number one dog repellent spray on the market is Mace "Muzzle":
It is pepper spray based and is the most popular dog repellent.
The canister holds 1/2 oz for 10 bursts at 10-12 feet.

Bear spray br-9 by Mace
If you need to ward off bigger animals, check Bear spray too.
The canister is much bigger (9oz), it shoots further, and covers bigger area. Here is the link to theBear Spray (Bear Repellent).

Dog chaser, dazzler, ultrasonic whistle
We also recommend carrying the ulrasonic dog repelling whistle.
The ultrasonic whistle comes handy before the attack happens.
If you feel that dogs might be sizing you up, the ultrasonic blast from the whistle (humans do not hear it, dogs -- do) might "change the dog's mind". It has a disorienting effect on dogs, so it might give you time to leave the danger zone.

When an attack is imminent, the whistle is not a solution anymore and it's time for pepper spray.
Aim toward the eyes and the nose.
The pain from pepper spray is significant and it might deter even a large dog. However, the force of determination of the attacking dog might block the pain, so the attack might still happened.
What do you do then?

You can read about the plan B in the e-book: "For Good Citizens Only: How to use Pepper Spray".

There is a chapter about animal attacks.

Nicole,
we look forward to seeing you back in the store,

and by all means -- e-book: How to use pepper sprayget the e-book!

Pepper Spray Shooter or Pepper Blaster or just Mace Gun?

We have a problem and we will need your help.
Here is what's going on: as you probably know in the last couple of years they developed a number of new good self-defense products that do not exactly "spray" their pepper.
GuardianAngel PepperBlast shooter by KimberSome shoot their pepper spray or pepper gel load with their own pyrotechnic drive, like the Guardian Angel.
Some, like Mace Gun or Dragon Fire instantly develop very high pressure in the chamber and make a long forceful stream of the pepper solution toward the target. There are others that shoot paint balls or darts filled with pepper spray. This is all wonderful but how should we call all these devices? What do they do?How should we call their actions: do they shoot? do they blast? do they jet? do they launch?
Even the manufacturers do not really care calling them anything in particular.
This is what the manufacturers offer so far:
Pepper Spray Shooter (by Kimber Lifeact)
PepperBlaster (as Kimber's Guardian Angels are called sometimes)
Pepper Spray Launcher (both Kimber and SWAT call their devices "launchers")
Pepper Jet Launcher (JPX Jet by Kimber, again)
DragonFire OC (does not click...)
Mace Gun (scary)
PepperBall (silly)
Pepper Gun

What do you think is the proper way of calling them, as a category?
Please share your thoughts in the comments space below, we would really appreciate it!

Will I get shocked when using stun gun?

If I use your mini stun gun zap 950 while someone is grabbing my arm will I get shocked?

-- Betsy T.
stun gun grabbing Dear Betsy, you asked an excellent question! Moreover, nobody has ever asked us that and the answer definitely deserves to be published in the blog. Thank you!Your concerns about the stun gun use are well understood.
We have a good news for you:
the electricity from stun guns cannot be passed by touching the person being hit, or by the person grabbing your arm or, even, by standing in a puddle with them.
Here is why: the electric current produced by stun guns travels from one electrode of the stun gun to another. The electrodes are close to each other, spread less than an inch apart.
stun gun electrodes and spark between them

So when you touch someone with the stun gun you touch them with both electrodes. The power will travel very short distance through the assailant's body but with incapacitating effects on the whole muscle and nervous systems. The power does not "stray" away from the path between the two electrodes.

ZAP 950 stun gun
The ZAP 950 stun gun you've selected is one of the most popular stun guns due to its tiny size, portability and tremendous voltage (almost a million volts!). Good choice!

Also: when you buy the ZAP 950 here we will also give you a real PS-2 bottle of pepper spray for your keychain, as a gift.

Is pepper spray legal in NY? Is pepper spray illegal in NY? What gives?..

Mace Pepper spray in NYC, NY, New YorkNot a day goes by without a question from our customers or web passers-by: Is pepper spray legal in NY? Is pepper spray illegal in NY? Is Mace legal in NYC? where can I buy pepper spray in Manhattan? etc, etc, etc.

We've compiled a short Q&A post to answer all these questions at once.
Please read the disclaimer too.
---------------------------------------------
Disclaimer: we are not lawyers and do not dispense legal advice. We are not interpreting any laws either, we just explaining our own operating procedures and how the laws, we are aware of, affected them. Laws and regulations change all the time and certain things written here now (06/25/2008) may become obsolete later. So we advise you strongly to contact your local Police Department or other local authority and ask them about current legal situation in your locality. Please do.
---------------------------------------------
Q. Is pepper spray and mace legal in New York (NY)?
A. YES, pepper spray IS indeed legal in the state of NY.
Since Mace is just a brand of pepper sprays, Mace is legal in NY as well.

Some visitors insist in asking the same question in the negative:
Q. Is pepper spray illegal in NY? Is Mace illegal in NY?
For them the answer is:
A. Pepper sprays are not illegal in the state of New York, Mace spray is not illegal in NY either.

Q. What are the pepper spray (or Mace) laws in the state of NY?
A. The law we are aware of regulates only the purchase and sale of self-defense sprays in the state of New York. In brief, the law requires that sale of defensive sprays within NY state is performed by special authorized dealers only; such dealers should perform the background check on buyers; sales to felons are prohibited etc. For complete details see the legal definition here.

Q. Where can I buy pepper spray in New York, Manhattan, Brooklyn, Rochester, Albany, NY (the list goes on...)?
A. We do not have a list of authorized dealers in NY state but we have a couple of tips for you:
- You might want to try calling hunting supplies stores, sports and outdoors, and, surprise-surprise: local neighborhood pharmacies. A licensed pharmacist could be an authorized dealer.
- Don't call big chain pharmacies, call your small friendly drugstore on the corner.

Q. Why don't you ship defensive sprays to New York, NY?
A. You are correct: DefendingWomen (or any other company) may not ship defensive sprays to a NY state address because this would violate the law mentioned above. Such orders of Pepper sprays to a New York state address will be stopped and will not be shipped, no exceptions.

Q. Are there any other pepper sprays that can be shipped to NY?
A. Excellent question! Yes, Mace Dog spray (Canine repellent/repellant spray) and Bear spray can be shipped to New York.
You can buy animal repellent sprays here. This situation may change at any time.

We all love the Guardian Angel pepper spray due to its power, speed, and clean modern design. It is not your ordinary spray, instead it shoots the OC (liquid pepper) solution with enormous (90mph) speed.
We've got information that Kimber, the company that distribute this Swiss product in the US, plans to improve upon this already hugely successful product. Who knows what is it going to be? It could be something trivial like new colors or new packaging, or something disastrous, like a new name for this popular product. Or maybe in the days of $4.50 gasoline it's just a price increase. Whatever it's going to be: We know you are listening, Kimber: we LOVE you pepper spray products, keep changes to the minimum, don't mess with your own HUGE success.

Blast 950 Stun gun Review

Blast 950 BlastKnuckles stun gun

Blast 950 stun gun (also known as Blast Knuckles) is probably the most unusual
stun gun on the market today.
How many times have you heard opinions that
the assailant can take way your self-defense weapon away from you?
Not this one!
We recommend Blast 950 stun gun to women because by design this stungun
can not be taken away from you at all.
Take a look here and read a review for this mighty device:As the name implies, the Blast 950 stun gun possesses the largest electric charge available on the market now: 950,000 volts!
This is almost 1 million volts of angry electricity!
Even 100,000 volts will do the job of incapacitating an assailant but the powerful look and sound of 1 Million volt arc surely
has deeper psychological effect.
Everything in the design of the Blast 950 (aka Blast Knuckles) stungun combines common sense, street wisdom with modern technology.
The stun gun is worn above the knuckles on your hand and has a very aggressive look just by itself.
Is it important?
You bet it is!
This stun gives you a look of someone who is ready to go great length to protect youself.
It projects an image you are ready to fire and do anything for self-protection.
Chances are, and psychological studies support this, that if a would-be assailant spots that device on your hand he would rather move on searching for a less troublesome prey.
Blast 950 BlastKnuckles stun gun

The Blast 950 stungun is the best stungun for joggers. Period.
As you noticed, it is always ON your hand, you do not have to reach for it or fetch it from a pocket or a belt.
It fits on the hand nicely, the trigger mechanism is inside the bracket,
right under your index finger.
The safety latch guards against accidental discharges, it operates by your
index finger, as well.
Firing the Blast 950 stungun takes less than a second, it's instantaneous.

The front bracket is very light, made out of plastic because it does not have to withstand fighting.
It only holds the electrodes and is very light.

The Blast 950 comes equipped with 2 CR123A batteries already.
They are common type, used widely in digital cameras and sold even in variety stores.

Like all stun guns, Blast 950 works on the contact with the assailant.
The electric charges of almost 1 Million volt overrides the nervous system of
the person and incapacitates the assailant. The person can not move a muscle
for 5-10 minutes which is plenty to leave the danger zone.

9 New Tips from Defense Experts and Police

This list of new safety tips came from Mr. Edward Lewis, private investigator, whose investigative agency and work was featured earlier on this blog.
Mr. Lewis compiled this list for our readers.
Safety tips for women's defense

We wish you all to read it and never have the need to use any of them.
However, we also wish you to recall them if all of a sudden your life starts resembling one of these situations:1.Robbery
If a robber asks for your wallet and/or purse,
Do not hand it to him - instead TOSS IT AWAY FROM YOURSELF!
Chances are that he is more interested in your wallet/purse than in you, and he will go for the wallet/purse.
RUN LIKE MAD IN THE OTHER DIRECTION!

2. Kidnapping
If you are ever thrown into the trunk of a car, KICK OUT THE TAIL LIGHTS from inside the trunk.
You can do it in most cars.
Then STICK YOUR ARM OUT THE HOLE AND START WAVING like crazy.
The driver won't see you, but everybody else will.
This tip has saved lives.

3. Kidnapping
Women have a tendency to get into their cars after shopping, eating, working, etc., and just sit (doing their checkbook, or making a list, etc. -- Wrong!!!)
The predator will be watching you, and this is the perfect opportunity for him to get in on the passenger side, put a gun to your head, and tell you where to go.
AS SOON AS YOU GET INTO YOUR CAR, LOCK THE DOORS AND LEAVE RIGHT AWAY!

4. Kidnapping
If someone is in the car with a gun to your head DO NOT DRIVE OFF,
repeat: DO NOT DRIVE OFF!
Instead gun the engine and speed into anything.
WRECK THE CAR, YOUR AIRBAG WILL SAVE YOU!
If the person is in the back seat they will get the worst of it .
As soon as the car crashes bail out and run.
It is better than having them find your body in a remote location.

safety tips for women

5. Be Alert, Watch Out for these signs
A few notes about getting into your car in a parking lot, or parking garage:
- Be aware: look around you, look into your car at the passenger side floor and in the back seat
- If you are parked next to a big van, enter your car from the passenger door. Most serial killers attack their victims by pulling them into their vans while the women are attempting to get into their cars.
- Look at the car parked on the driver's side of your vehicle and the passenger side. If a male is sitting alone in the seat nearest your car, you may want to walk back into the mall, or work, and get a guard/policeman to walk you back out.
IT IS ALWAYS BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY. (And better paranoid than dead.)

6. Be Alert
Stairwells are horrible places to be alone and the perfect crime spot, especially at night.
ALWAYS TAKE THE ELEVATOR INSTEAD OF THE STAIRS!

7. Attack, Kidnapping
If the predator has a gun and you are not under his control, ALWAYS RUN!
The predator's shot will likely miss you (a running target) 96 out of 100 times;
And even if hit, it most likely WILL NOT be a vital organ.
RUN, RUN, RUN!
Preferably in a zig -zag pattern!

8. Attack, Fight
The elbow is the strongest point on your body.
IF YOU ARE CLOSE ENOUGH TO HIT WITH YOUR ELBOW -- DO IT!

9. Be Alert, Watch out for these signs
As women, we are always trying to be sympathetic: STOP !
It may get you raped or killed.
Ted Bundy, the serial killer, was a good-looking, well educated man, who ALWAYS played on the sympathies of unsuspecting women.
He walked with a cane, or a limp, and often asked "for help" into his vehicle or with his vehicle, which is when he abducted his next victim.

As another illustration, here is the safety point mentioned on America's Most Wanted this past Saturday when they profiled the serial killer in Louisiana:
A woman heard a crying baby on her porch the night before last and she called the police because it was late and she thought it was weird.
The police told her "Whatever you do, DO NOT open the door."
The lady then said that it sounded like the baby had crawled near a window,
and she was worried that it would crawl to the street and get run over.
The policeman said, "We already have a unit on the way, whatever you do, DO NOT open the door."
He told her that they think a serial killer has a baby's cry recorded and uses it to coax
women out of their homes thinking that someone dropped off a baby.
He said they have not verified it, but have had several calls by women saying that they hear baby's cries outside their doors when they're home alone at night.

BE KIND AND COMPASSIONATE BUT STAY ALERT AND SAFE AT ALL TIMES!
